For whatever reason, my cable box in the family room quit working a few nights ago. I called the cable company, but there was nothing they could do over the phone to get it working again. So tomorrow a “cable guy” will be here sometime between 1 and 3 pm to figure out what’s wrong. I have a feeling he’ll be here closer to 3 than to 1.

As long as I was dealing with tv stuff, I called TiVo and ordered an upgrade to my old TiVo so it will now record stuff in high definition as well as record two shows at the same time…which also means that I can watch one show and record another! The new unit probably won’t arrive until sometime next week, but that’s not really a problem since the old one hasn’t been working for a few months anyhow. After dealing with TiVo, I called the cable company again and ordered the upgrade to HD. Turns out they have to personally install a cable card into my TiVo unit, so yet another cable guy will be coming the following Saturday to take care of that. And then I’ll be finished and will have my new high definition tv working the way it should–in high definition!

Meanwhile, any tv I want to watch has to be done in my bedroom which is a real pain since I usually watch tv while on the computer. So I’m watching less tv and wind up falling asleep while watching if I lay down in bed to watch. I’ll be glad to at least get the old box working again in the family room.

Am starting to get caught up on all the year end stuff at work, but still have plenty to do to finish up 2009. Stopped at Office Depot tonight to pick up a new desk calendar (finally! I’ve been going nuts without one!), 1099 forms and software, a tax program, and a few other miscellaneous items. Am hopeful I can get my personal taxes taken care of in February (as well as what few others I do for family and friends) so that I’m not in a panic come mid-April.

I especially don’t want to be doing taxes late this year since I’m going to Seattle the first of April to spend Easter with Kevin, Chrysoula and Robin. Am flying up on Thursday evening and will stay until the following Tuesday. Looking forward to coloring eggs with Robin!

Nate started his training today as a hunter! I found him chasing around the family room this morning and realized he was chasing a cricket that had somehow found it’s way into the house. It jumped and he pounced over and over again. Finally he dismembered it, picked it up in his mouth and carried it around the room. When it finally stopped moving he ate it! I have a feeling he will keep my tomatoes free of rats come summer!
