This audit is worse than I thought it would be.  I feel as though I am getting absolutely nothing accomplished.  My office looks like a cyclone went through it.  I spend half the day answering questions from the auditors and then try to go back to my office to prepare reports they request.

Today I had to do spreadsheets showing how much vacation time every employee had on hand as of 12/31/05 and 12/31/06 and show how much that was worth at their current salary at that time.  Then I had to do another couple of spreadsheets showing the time hourly employees had worked during the months of Dec 05 and 06 that wasn’t paid until the following year and what the pay was for those hours.

The auditors are amazed at how much I am responsible for doing.  They keep telling me that I have too much to do and should have a full-time assistant.  Hah!

I’m trying to train my new part-time administrative assistant who started Monday and keep him busy enough so that he doesn’t get bored and quit, but it’s difficult to do when I can’t spend more than just a few minutes off and on with him.  And then there are all my regular work duties.

I drove home in a daze.  I can’t wait until the weekend.Â
