Spent tons of time outside this weekend.  Saturday was spent at Vanessa’s, helping her get her yard cleaned up.  Her mom had tons and tons of potted plants in their small yard, many of which were either dead or at the point of no return.  I brought home 2 small ones and 2 large ones, but most of the rest we had to toss.  At least now Vanessa can get a gardener in to trim and cleanup the yard.  There are still quite a few plants on the side of the house, but they are along the side of the house and disposal can be put off for awhile.

On Sunday I spent a good chunk of the day trimming the plants around my front porch area, making room for the new plants and doing a general clean up of the porch.  It looks quite nice right now, and will look even better when I get the new wicker furniture to put out there.  The stuff I have right now is about 15 years old and looks it!  Target has a really nice set in a cream color on sale this week.  Amanda is going there with me tomorrow after work to help haul it in her car.  I’m very excited for this new look and anticipate spending Sunday mornings out there relaxing with coffee and the Sunday paper.

Weather was great over the weekend but has cooled down today with temps only in the 50’s.  Supposed to warm up again in a few days and should be in the 70’s-80’s by the weekend.  Speaking of the weekend, Friday is a holiday for us–Cesar Chavez Day!  The following week is Holy Week, meaning most of the day off on Friday (Good Friday) and all day off on Monday, the day after Easter.  This is a great time of year!  I’m very much into getting lots done at home and all these holidays over the next two weeks should bode well for getting lots accomplished.

Still have to finish up my tax return, but at least I’ve started on it.  Doing a little every night makes it not too stressful.  Hope to have a nice refund coming so will be happy to have everything sent off and the money in my bank account.

Off to bed, kind of.  Going to try to stay up a bit later than normal to watch Pete Rose on Jay Leno.  Probably will TiVo it just in case I fall asleep.
