Things happened the way I expected: All Saints has refused to comply with the demands of the IRS. As a result, a multitude of other churches and clergy are standing behind us, with some even becoming members of All Saints. The press coverage has been great. We’ve been on the front page of the Pasadena Star-News all week, either on the front page or page 2 of the LA Times, and stories on all the local tv and radio stations as well as many of the national news shows. And the internet is loaded with tons of stories on all sorts of websites. So now it’s all up to the IRS. Stay tuned.

Meanwhile, it’s been a brutal week at work. I finally got out tonight at about 6 pm but got everything done to produce the financial statements as well as paying a mountain of bills. Next week will be rough in that I have two finance committee meetings, have to do payroll and pay bills. Also have 2-3 huge projects that I haven’t even begun that need to happen sooner rather than later. Highly doubtful I’ll be able to do much on the projects until the following week but, since I no longer have an assistant, that’s the way it goes.

I am really glad that it’s Friday. This is the first weekend since Labor Day that I will be able to sleep in…and I have nothing that I have to do! Will probably do some housework, some yardwork and whatever else I have time to do. Still have to finish painting the trim in my bedroom, but need to get other stuff done first as both my house and yard are rapidly going to hell. Getting sick and making two trips to Seattle over the past two months really screwed up all my redecorating and major cleaning plans this year. Seems something always seems to happen…

Patrick stopped by this evening. His new job is going great and he seems to be extremely happy. Hopefully he will continue to do well and move up within the company.

Kevin and Soula are almost finished moving out of the old house which should happen this weekend. While the still have lots of unpacking still to do as well as other fixup stuff, at least it will all happen at the new house and they won’t have to be trekking back and forth from Kirkland to Renton. Wish I could head north again for more painting, but just can’t handle another trip until Christmas…plus I have way too much to get caught up on here at home.
