Seems one of my neighbors also has bronchitis–and he’s had it for weeks. Great. Don’t think I got it from him since his house is downhill from mine and I don’t recall being around him before I left for Seattle. Think it’s just a bug that’s in the air.

Had to go back to work last week and just can’t afford to take off this week–too much work to do. Seems I’m just not getting as much done as I had hoped. Am extremely tired and am having trouble getting motivated both at work and at home. Late today the a/c in my office went out…so I left. With temps in the 90’s and not feeling real well, I’m not going to try to work without a/c.

Finally went outside and did some watering. My poor plants have been suffering through hot days and an owner who keeps forgetting about them. The weeds don’t seem to mind the lack of water, though, and are going crazy. Hopefully it won’t be blazing hot all weekend and I’ll manage to spend at least a few hours outside tending to the flowerbeds and doing a bit of trimming. And hopefully I’ll manage to get somewhat motivated to do this…

Since a three-day weekend awaits, I’m anticipating catching up on sleep and maybe catching up on finishing the painting in my bedroom. This was supposed to be done right after I returned from Seattle, but my body had different ideas. I refuse to let this room go unfinished for months!

Got my electric/water bill today covering the heatwave in July. Not as bad as I expected. Only about $200 more than a normal bill. Far less than the huge bills many who are with Edison were experiencing. Glad Pasadena has it’s own utility company which seems to have far lower rates than Edison.

Have some checks to issue tonight for one of my clients and then it’s off to bed. Slept through the night last night and am hopeful that will be the case tonight as well.
