Went back to work Monday and have been overwhelmed all week. Meetings, payroll prep, lots of mail, and a multitude of other tasks have caused me to reconsider the wiseness of my decision to take a week off, go back for a week and then take another week off. Think it would have been smarter to plan the two weeks together and only have to go through the “catching up” period once. Too late now though…

Finished all the faux painting in my bedroom last Friday and collapsed! The walls look fantastic, but I don’t think I’d ever do it again. And I still have the trim to paint when I get back from Kevin’s. All in all, I think the total project will have taken close to 2 full weeks of work. Good thing I like the finished product!

I leave on a 6:35 pm flight on Friday and return next Wednesday morning. Enough time to visit, see the new digs, and help a bit with packing and whatever else needs doing. Also get to see their new puppy, Dante. He’s the same kind of dog as Hannah–a flat-haired retriever. He’s very cute, but very much a puppy. And then I’ll have a few days at home to finish up the painting before heading back to work.

Still have 3 more days off available, so I may take the day before Labor Day weekend and at least one day in December for Christmas shopping. And still have yet another week off planned for Christmas. Just need to figure out how to get all my tasks completed at work and still take all this time off….aaarrrggghhh!
