Actually there are 3 days remaining until I go back to work, but since 2 are weekend days, they really don’t count as vacation. Right?

The faux finish on the walls in my bedroom looks spectacular but is unbelievably time consuming and labor intensive. I have about 2/3 of it completed and hope to have it all done tomorrow. Still have to paint the trim, but that should be a breeze after the walls!

The weather this week has been absolutely wonderful! Today the sun never even came out…it was great! Never thought I’d be happy to have a totally overcast day, but it has meant the temps have been in the mid-70’s to low 80’s for the past week. Fabulous for being off work and trying to get painting finished up. Also has meant that I haven’t had to water my plants every single day.

Went to a play tonight that was written by Ryan Scott Oliver, the son of a friend. Ryan is currently getting his master’s degree at NYU and will undoubtedly be working on Broadway at some point as he is that good. He can write plays and music, direct performances, arrange music, and perform–for starters. This play was the culmination of the GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) Summer Musical Theater Workshop in the Pasadena School District. It was great fun and a relaxing way to end the day.

Have received a multitude of emails and phone calls from work over this past week. Will be glad to head off to Seattle in a week where I am a bit more unreachable. Guess I don’t have to worry about losing my job any time soon! At least the emailers and callers will both be off work tomorrow resulting in an uninterrupted day. We live in hope.
