In honor of all the new Lakers (and a couple of “old” ones), I’ve replanted my official Laker garden out front! Knowing we would probably have rain this weekend, I got all the purple and yellow (and a few white) chrysanthemums planted in the bed under my new bay window yesterday. They look quite beautiful, and I’m hoping they last at least for a few months until it’s time to add some winter pansies. The rain should help since my good intentions for watering are sometimes lost when I get home from work in the evening…

The inside of the house is also getting back into some semblance of order–finally! The completion of the window construction has helped immensely as there is no longer a daily dose of dust being dumped on everything. And I believe the new windows will help to keep the outside dust from entering the inside. I’ve done a massive cleaning of the family room and dining room, and hope to get the living room completed today. We’ll see how long the surfaces stay somewhat dust free–which was usually only a few days in the past!

Since we had a bit of thunder accompanying the rainstorm last night, Murphy was allowed to sleep inside for the first time ever! I made him a bed on the floor of my bedroom and he did great–not peeing or pooping anywhere inside! Hopefully this will continue and he can officially become an “inside dog!” I’m sure this will delight him, but not so sure the cats will be as willing to give their stamp of approval…
