Trip to the vet is finished and Murphy only lost 2 teeth! He seems to be feeling fine and is happy to be back home. I think he’s still a big groggy since his eyes appear to be a little watery. He also doesn’t seem to be as lively as normal but I have no doubt he’ll be his old self by tomorrow. He’ll be on antibiotics for a week. Since I expect his mouth is a bit sore right now, I let him have our leftovers for dinner–beef stew and a soft dinner roll. He’s zonked out on the floor right now sleeping off the remnants of the anesthesia.

Not a huge amount of progress on the windows today. They tore out the framing of the small back window and that wound up posing a problem in that the window was designed as a replacement rather than a new window. So they have to take the window out tomorrow and put stucco around the edges and then replace the window. One of the other large windows and the door is permanently installed but they still need to do the trim inside as well as the stucco outside. The bay window still needs to have trim installed inside and stucco on the outside. And then it’s just waiting for the final back window to be delivered from the manufacturer–supposedly next Monday. So I expect it all to be completed early next week. Whew! It’s taken a long time, but I really think it’s been worth it.

Once all the touch up painting is finished outside (hopefully this weekend) we’ll get started on finishing up everything on the inside. I’m so excited to be getting this finished! I’m going nuts right now just waiting for this window project to be completed since I can’t do much while they’re still working. All the cleaning and dusting I did a few weeks ago was for naught as everything and every spot in the house is once again coated with sawdust and dirt. I just couldn’t cover everything so I’ve given up and will just do a thorough cleaning once all the construction has ended. I’ve got to get busy when they leave as Christmas is looming just around the corner…
