The latest craze in the LA area these days is food trucks. Gourmet restaurants on wheels. Tonight Patrick, Vanessa and I went to a place called The Chef’s Kitchen here in Pasadena where about six food trucks were parked. Chef’s Kitchen is an incubator for food based businesses and, in addition to the food trucks, some of the upstart businesses were selling their products.

Patrick had a bunch of sliders and Vanessa and I went to the Lobsta Truck were she had a crab roll and I had a lobster roll. We also split a cup of clam chowder and had some fresh lemonade. Afterward we viewed the products from the small businesses. I had to buy some push-up cupcakes from the winner of the TV show “Cupcake Wars” and also got a small fresh baked blueberry pie. What good food! I can’t wait until next Friday to try another truck!!!

I wouldn’t have known about any of this except for the fact that the Episcopal Diocese sponsors Chef’s Kitchen. I get an email newsletter at work from the Diocese every week and they had an article this week about this event. The food trucks will be there every Friday from now until October…and this won’t be the last time I visit them!
