Have been home for two days and it seems like ages ago that I was in Seattle. I’ve been so busy at home and at work that I haven’t had a chance to even think about my trip. I came home to a house that reeked of cat urine. It seems that Sophie didn’t like the fact that I left her for five days and decided to pee on my couch, my bed, a laundry basket, and the bathtub. In addition she chewed up a kitchen scrubber and sponge, tore up a roll of paper towels and knocked down a curtain and rod in the kitchen. So I’ve been cleaning and trying to get rid of the cat urine smell every night. And every night I come home to find another spot of pee since she’s continuing the peeing each day while I’m at work. Tonight, in addition to spraying the latest pee spots with a deodorizer to remove the smell, I sprayed down the various areas with Feliway which is supposed to deter cats from peeing on furniture. This weekend I’ll be shampooing furniture and carpet as well as doing lots of laundry. Good that our watering ban has ended and we’re no longer conserving water in Pasadena!

Kevin and Soula had Robin tested the day after I left at the Autism Center at Seattle Childrens Hospital. He’s been diagnosed with either High Functioning Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome. They will now try to enroll him in a preschool program that can deal with children with special needs. I think he will do great in such an environment. He’s extremely smart and just needs a bit of help with socialization skills. I’m anxious to see what kind of program they find and how he adapts.

I wandered around the yard tonight to find lots of roses either in bloom or ready to bloom any day. Additionally my Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow bush is in full bloom and one of my lilac bushes has started to bloom for the first time! Within about a week everything will be blooming all over the yard! We’re supposed to get some rain on Friday/Saturday so that should help all my plants…and keep me from using additional water. Hopefully the rain will let up a bit by Sunday so that I can have a bit of time working in the yard. I’m anxious to get outside in the yard again after the non-stop rain in Seattle!
