Watching the combination of “Hoarders” and lots of HGTV is really spurring me on. I’m dehoarding my closets, cupboards, and dressers and redoing lots of spaces.

My bedroom is almost completed. We laid out the new carpet today and it looks gorgeous and matches wonderfully in the room. Went to Sears today where I had previously found the headboard I wanted. Unfortunately they didn’t have it in stock so I had to order it. It won’t be in for two weeks. 🙁 Have a little bit of painting yet to do, but that will have to wait until after Kevin, Soula and Robin’s visit on Tuesday. Too many other things to do between now and then. Even though it’s not completely finished, I’m really happy with what I’ve done so far.

Tomorrow I’ll be emptying the back bedroom. Have lots of boxes of ‘stuff’ in there. Most of it has been sorted to be sold at an upcoming garage sale we are planning for this fall. I’ll start in by making some space in the garage to start stacking up all the boxes. Still have some stuff to go through in the garage but that, too, will have to wait for a few weeks. I need to get the back bedroom cleared since Robin will be sleeping in there and I don’t want him to get into anything. So, I’ll try to make it as kid-friendly as possible–meaning empty!

I’m really enjoying all this clearing out and decorating! I’m amazed at how much better I now feel since my surgery just a few months ago. And I’m surprised at how crummy that damn tumor made me feel in the months/year preceding the surgery. I just didn’t realize why I couldn’t get into doing much at all around this house. How great it is to be feeling normal and healthy again!

I’m off to bed to get some rest so I can get started early tomorrow. And it’s wonderful how restful my new bedroom now feels!
