Today was Laker Championship Day in LA. It started at 10 am this morning and continued on every local newscast tonight. They had a huge parade and then a ceremony/party/rally at the Coliseum. The crowd estimate was approximately half a million people total, with about 100,000 in the Coliseum. I watched it live on my computer at work and then watched the version I TiVo’d tonight. The TiVo one was much better since I kept getting interrupted at work. Thought about actually going to the parade, but am just as glad I didn’t try to battle that crowd. I would have spent hours and hours getting there and getting home for a few minutes of fun. They shut the gates to the Coliseum at about 10:15, so if you weren’t in line really early, you didn’t get in. Just as happy to watch it on TV.

And now I’m kind of glad to have it all over. It was great fun, but I’m ready to take a break from basketball, turn off the TV and begin to enjoy summer.
