The sun was showing through the ‘June gloom” clouds when I left for work this morning. In fact, I thought maybe I dressed too warmly for the day, wearing a long sleeved sweater. Glad I wore it. The sky started to darken mid-morning and the raindrops (and thunder and lightning!) began around one p.m. On the way home tonight, it really began pouring! Nice for all my new plants to get a deep watering, and nice for the lawn as well.

Guess the thunder intimidated Murphy ’cause he didn’t seem to have wandered out in the rain and appeared to have stayed under the breezeway area where it’s nice and dry. Either that or he fell asleep in his house and didn’t hear it. No matter what happened, I’m glad he stayed dry.

Today when I checked the weather (around 3 pm), it was 66 degrees in Pasadena and 86 degrees in Seattle. It was raining here and was hot and sunny in Seattle. I’m glad they are getting to enjoy some of the weather we take for granted in So. Cal. Hopefully it’s not too hot for them, especially since most of them don’t have a/c.

The rain is supposed to continue on and off for the next couple of days here, and that’s ok. It’s always nice to get some rain no matter when it falls–even in June!
