Been busy at work, working in the yard and watching the Lakers win the Western Conference Finals! The last game was spectacular and I’m glad they finished up in 6 games so that I have a few days off from basketball. They’ll be playing Orlando in the Finals starting on Thursday, 6/4, and will have home court advantage so the first two games are in LA. I’ve watched some of the Orlando/Cleveland games, but don’t know enough about the Magic to know how tough this series will be. Dwight Howard has played really well and they seem to shoot a lot of three pointers, so we’ll just have to wait and see how it goes.

Finished up my new flowerbed/garden today with the spreading of mulch. It really looks great. Going to put some brick colored stone “toppers” along the concrete wall behind the flowerbed. Since my asshole neighbor ripped out the iceplant that had been there, it really looks ugly with just dirt and concrete. I tried out a few up there and it looks pretty good, so I’ll stop by OSH tomorrow and pick up enough to finish it up.

Also have decided to get some more flowerpots and plants to sit atop the stumps from the cypress trees. I need something to sort of mask the ugly concrete wall until the lilies start to grow and fill in the area along the wall. By the time I’m done, the backyard is going to look awesome!

Made reservations this week for my trip to Seattle in August for Robin’s 2nd birthday. I can’t believe he’s already going to be two years old! I got an unbelievable deal on airfare. Am flying on Virgin America (an offshoot of Virgin Atlantic) with wifi access at every seat as well as a tv screen at each seat. Round trip cost was $159!!! I will have to figure out my schedule at work this fall to see if I can go visit again for a long weekend or something. At these prices, how can I resist!

Off to bed for now. Stayed up late to watch the final Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night. And, after spending 5-6 hours working in the yard, I’m pooped and ready to hit the sack. Thank God I don’t have to go to work tomorrow.
