So the “Murphy Fence” has not been successful.  For the past 3 days I have come home from work only to find poop in the flowerbed and flowers shredded.  Last night I tried putting in additional bamboo stakes, but that didn’t seem to work since the destruction was there once again tonight.

I got online to try to locate some home remedies.  Most involve using pepper or mothballs.  Since I have a large container of black pepper but no mothballs, I decided to try the pepper.  I sprinkled it in the area where Murphy has been pooping and scratching as well as on all the areas surrounding that flowerbed.  Let’s hope the pepper doesn’t wind up killing the plants!

Just finished watching Game 5 of the Eastern Conference NBA playoffs.  The Cleveland Cavaliers (or should I say, Lebron James) beat the Detroit Pistons in a double overtime game 109-107.  It was an unbelievable game!  Lebron scored *all* the points for the Cavs in the 4th quarter and both overtime periods!  Since the Lakers aren’t in the playoffs, I’m hoping the Cavs win the Eastern Conference and give me some reason to watch the NBA Finals.  I certainly don’t give a shit about either the Spurs or the Pistons.

Speaking of the Lakers, Kobe has certainly been in the news over the past few days.  One minute he wants to be traded, then he wants to retire in LA, then he wants to be traded, then he can’t imagine being anywhere but LA.  What is going on here?  Let me say up front that I DO NOT want the Lakers to trade Kobe!  There is no way they can make a trade and get enough quality players to make up for the lack of Kobe on the team.  I don’t know if all this is for real or is some kind of a ploy to get Jerry Buss (the Lakers’ owner) to get new management, resulting in new players to work with Kobe.  We certainly need some new talent on the team….but we don’t need to get rid of Kobe!Â
