It sounds nicer saying it that way rather than only one more day remaining.  I spent a lot of yesterday sorting out “stuff” in the family room and getting rid of lots.  I have filled the recycling bin with literally hundreds of old magazines.  I’ve subscribed to numerous magazines over the years (yes, I fell for all those deals) and then wound up not having enough time to read them.  And so I’ve saved them, not feeling good about throwing something away that I didn’t read.  Yesterday I finally gave in and tossed them all.  The only ones I’ve kept are National Geographic and Sunset.  And the only other one I’ll be renewing will be Better Homes & Gardens.

Went to Home Depot today and picked up 6 gallons of paint–yellow for the kitchen walls, white for the kitchen cabinets, pale green for my new office walls, and white for the trim and ceiling.  Got all kinds of new brushes, rollers, etc. so I’m ready to go as soon as the office is cleared out.  Won’t start on the kitchen until I have the office finished, but wanted to get the paint this weekend since Behr has a $5 rebate per gallon through tomorrow.  Originally planned to paint the office blue, but just couldn’t come up with a color that worked.  I think the green (kind of a mossy green) will work well and will allow for a good transition from the family room brown walls to the office green.  Let’s hope so since I can’t afford to be replacing it with another color.  Damn is paint expensive these days!  Behr is one of the most expensive brands, but it really is worth it.

Have a bit of yard work I want to get done yet today, but am waiting till it cools off a bit.  It’s warmer than I expected, with temps in the 80’s.  Also want to wait until the Indy 500 finally ends.  There was a huge rain delay and they expect the race to end early because another batch of rain is headed toward Indianapolis right now.  The race isn’t that good in that every time they get started someone crashes and they go to yellow.  Then they get the green flag and someone else crashes.  It doesn’t seem to be a real race today.  Just whoever stays in front until it starts raining again.
