Patrick and Veronica met me at Target late this afternoon to help haul home my new wicker furniture for the front porch.  That’s right, the furniture that was out of stock a few weeks ago finally was in, and I was able to use my rain check and get it for the sale price!  Although it didn’t exactly fit in any of the three cars we had available, we were able to get everything inside the cars except for the loveseat which we tied down to the top of Patrick’s car.  A 5 min drive home meant that wasn’t all that big of deal.  Everything is set up on the front porch and looks beautiful.  As my neighbor, Mary, said it looks like a room out there.

Need to repot a few plants on the porch and then the front of the house will be done and ready for summer enjoyment!  We used to spend lots of time out there and then the old wicker furniture started to deteriorate and it just wasn’t all that welcoming.  The new furniture looks so warm and cozy, and you just want to sit out there on warm summer evenings and relax.

To thank Patrick and Veronica for all their help, we headed out to Marie Callender’s for an early dinner.  Food was good and visiting with the two of them was great.

Had hoped to get the backyard work finished today, but just couldn’t get going on it.  Everything is soaking wet since it rained all day on Friday.  We needed the rain, so I’m not complaining.  But it’s kind of messy to trim bushes that drip all over you as you trim.  So I’ll try to get at it tomorrow and instead spent the evening doing some inside cleaning and talking on the phone with family.

We’re supposed to get just a bit of rain tomorrow night, but then the temps will be warming up and the upcoming week is predicted to be nice and warm and dry.  I’m ready to open the windows again!
