That’s the verdict after the pictures on Monday…a baby boy!  Kevin and Soula are having a baby boy!  I am very happy since boys are familiar territory for me.  I am not surprised. however, since males are certainly more predominant in the Maginn family.  I would have been happy either way and am looking forward to a granddaughter someday.  But for now I am excited and looking forward to welcoming my grandson in September!

Spent today at home due to severe intestinal problems.  Only reason I can think of for problems would be something I ate at the staff lunch yesterday.  Had salad, a tuna sandwich (on some kind of yukky olive bread) and lots of dessert…in fact, far too much dessert!  Dessert included small squares of pecan tarts, cheesecake and brownies.  And it was really good.  But today I paid the price.  Yuk.  No more work goodies for awhile.

Had an appointment with the eye doctor late this afternoon, so went ahead with that.  The contacts he prescribed last week were absolutely terrible!  I’ve been unable to see while working on the computer or reading other than large print.  I even had to change the resolution on my work computer ’cause I couldn’t read anything!  Finally resorted to using my glasses which also don’t work all that great while using the computer, but that was better than the contacts.  Got new ones today that are much better.  Also got my eyes dilated which has resulted in weepy eyes and the inability to read much of anything tonight.  Finally the eyes seem to be getting back to normal and the eye exam resulted in no problems other than same old, same old problems which can be corrected with contacts/glasses.

After trimming the bushes last weekend, I spent extra time in the evening sweeping up all the leaves and other residue from the work.  I am soooo glad I did it!  The winds started blowing yesterday, and really hit today.  If I hadn’t swept up around the pool deck, all that junk would have been in the pool.  Now if my neighbor’s fence and tree don’t come down, all will be good.  Everything seems to have calmed down a bit, so I’m hopeful the winds don’t start up again during the night.

I am intentionally not discussing the awfulness at Virginia Tech this week.  We’ve all seen and heard enough of it on TV.  There’s nothing left to say.Â
