It’s 10:30 pm on New Year’s Eve and I’ve been watching PBS all night.  Will switch over to NBC at 11, but have been enjoying an evening of music with no commercials.  Tried playing The Sims 2 on my computer, but I think Patrick needs to upgrade my memory ’cause it runs lots slower on my computer than on Soula’s.  Seems like a fun game, but way too slow right now for me to get into it…it takes FOREVER just to load!

Yesterday was spent at Vanessa’s helping her clean out her mom’s garage.  Her mom is now in an assisted care facility and they are getting the house cleaned out and ready to sell.  I was amazed at how much stuff her mom had stored in the garage…and we’re only half way through all of it.  She is going to donate most of it and take the tax write-off.  Some of the stuff from inside the house will be sold on Ebay, but it’s just too much to try to sell all of it.

Today was Patrick’s birthday.  He’s 27 today.  I told him he was now an adult.  He and Veronica will be coming over tomorrow for our annual dinner of pork spareribs, sauerkraut and mashed potatoes…and, of course, a birthday cake.

I’ll probably head off to bed not long after midnight since I want to get up early to see the flyover by the stealth bomber at the start of the Rose Parade.  It flies right over our house and is really cool.  And then I’ll spend the morning watching the Rose Parade on tv.

So another year has passed.  They seem to go by faster and faster these days.  And each year I hope the new one is better than the one just past.  I’m hopeful for the same as we head into 2007.  Happy New Year!
