The temps were below normal today and it was overcast for much of the day. It’s a bit humid, but the damn heat has left the area. Just looked outside, and noticed that it’s raining! OMG…this is too good to be true! And tomorrow is predicted to be the same as today!

I was able to do a ton of yard work in the cooler temperatures. Ripped out some kind of bushes/trees that were growing in the middle of the hedge along my driveway. The gardeners have been trimming them along with the hedge and they were gradually filling in and taking over the hedge. There are now some empty spots, but I’m hopeful the hedge will begin to fill them in over time.

I also cleaned out all the leaves that have built up under all my succulents along the other side of the driveway. And I installed the garden fencing along all the remaining flowerbeds in the backyard that weren’t already fenced in with the hope that Murphy will stay out of my plants.

Need to do a bit more work tomorrow along the driveway reseating the concrete dividers between my rose bushes and then adding mulch to refresh the dirt. And am hopeful I can get the front porch cleared and cleaned since I haven’t done that for over a year and the spiders have taken over.

In between all this I’m cleaning and continuing work on my bedroom. Did a final bit of patching and sanding the bedroom walls and will begin the faux finish work on Monday. That’s right, Monday….’cause I’m off work all week! If I can get all the painting done by Wednesday, I would like to tackle the garage and try to get rid of some of the stuff that’s been building up out there. While I would like to work in the room that used to be Patrick’s office/Kevin’s bedroom, I need some room to move around in the garage before starting any new indoor projects.

I damn near had a heart attack earlier tonight. I called Patrick and the call went to his answering machine and the message said “You’ve reached Patrick. I don’t live here any more. Call me on my cellphone.” I just about shit! I called his cell but got no answer. I was beginning to panic so I called his land line again and he answered and had no idea what I was talking about when I asked what the hell was going on! Turns out this was his old message from when he moved out last fall and for some reason his Vonage message didn’t go through and the call went to his old answering machine. Whew!

All the paperwork has started for Kevin’s and Soula’s home purchase. The assessment has been ordered, so it’s just a matter of time before they sign on the dotted line. They’ve begun cleaning and packing, but haven’t really gotten into it heavy duty yet. I’m sure there will still be plenty left to do when I get up there in about 2 weeks from now.
