What a long week this has been. My body is still not completely adjusted back to California time. I’m looking forward to having a full weekend at home. Need to start cleaning up in the backyard…have lots of pieces of concrete to get rid of where the workers tore out the pieces near the fence last week. Also need to sift the rocks out of the dirt in the new flowerbed. Probably won’t get started planting for a few weeks at least…need to get all the mess out before I start in on that. Anxious for the backyard to have green at both ends for the first time in over 20 years!

It’s supposed to rain early next week, so we’ll see how the new wall holds up. I expect the fill dirt will sink down some, but hope it settles in and firms up so that I can put in topsoil for the new plants and have everything finished up quickly. If we don’t get enough rain, I’ll probably just water heavily so that I don’t wind up with problems once the real rain hits this winter.

Otherwise, will be doing a bit of cleaning (everything is really dusty), paying bills, and other totally boring stuff. The only fun thing I’m planning is to get all my fall decorations out of the garage and scattered around the house and on the front porch. Will probably also hose down the front porch to get rid of the spider webs that have built up over the summer.

Have everything needed to paint my bedroom, but need to get the rest of the house cleaned before starting in there. Maybe in a couple of weeks…or at least by Thanksgiving weekend.

Thnking of buying a small electric heater to use in the garage. That way I can work out there over the winter when it’s normally too cold. That’s the only way I’ll be able to get the garage finished up by next summer. Also, can use the heater inside to save on gas.

Well, time to get started. I’m sure I can do a few things before bed.
