And so I sit and wait for a doctor to decide to see me. I’m having some intenstinal problems–trust me, you don’t want to know all the details–and need to get in to see a gastroenterologist. But the way insurance works today, I first had to see my general practitioner and he had to recommend that I see the gastroenterologist. Then that doctor has to review my file and decide whether to see me. Or he may just decide to schedule a colonoscopy without seeing me first. Who knows. So my problems continue (and seem to be getting worse), my blood pressure rises and I can’t do anything but wait.

Meanwhile, life goes on. Need to dismantle part of the wood fence out back this weekend since the workers will be here on Monday to start demolishing and rebuilding part of the retaining wall between our backyard and our neighbors yard. The timing isn’t great on getting this project underway, but it needs to happen before the winter rains begin. The estimate is that it will take 1-1/2 weeks to complete. I’ll be happy if it’s finished by the first of October. Not sure how we’ll be able to contain Murphy while the fence is down. Ah well, one more home fix-up item to cross off the list.

The only “big” things that still need to happen are pool resurfacing and retiling the edges (can wait for awhile) and new central heating and air conditioning. Would really love to get central air, but need to wait for at least another year or two to be able to afford it. Still have lots of “small” projects (painting, refinishing kitchen cabinets, new kitchen and family room floors, redoing my bathroom, refinishing wood floors) but those are all things I hope to be able to do myself. Let’s hope I stay healthy enough to be able to get them all completed!
