As people die in the streets of New Orleans, it seems our country is not doing nearly enough. How is it that we can have troops and supplies in place within only a day or two after the Tsunami, but four days after a monster hurricane in our own country results in people dying from dehydration due to lack of food and water? I don’t get it.

Tonight I saw pictures of a warehouse here in California loaded with supplies ready to be shipped to the hurricane victims. The reason they hadn’t yet been shipped was the result of FEMA not releasing them. What’s the use of gathering relief supplies (or, for that matter, contributing to relief funds) when our government won’t let the supplies be shipped to these needy folks?

Get your shit together Dubya and get help to these people before it’s too late for many of them!
