What a wonderful and fabulous day it was! Soula looked gorgeous and Kevin looked dashing–as upcoming pictures will show. Both were the happiest I have ever seen, full of love for one another.

Things went smoothly on the big day, with everything going according to schedule. The ceremony was extremely moving, and I spent most of it in tears. Everything about the reception was superb–great food, fun dancing and meeting up with family and friends.

And now it’s over. Exhaustion has overtaken me with today being the first day I have arisen with even the slightest desire to do something. Had to head back to work on Wednesday, but crashed on the couch each night. I guess it was the combination of stress, Vegas heat (105 degrees *every* day!), emotions and lots to do each day while there. I’m glad it’s over, but sad, too. Glad for the relief to get back to *normal*, but sad that such a wonderful day went by so quickly.

We picked up the pictures from the photographer before leaving on Tuesday. They are some of the best wedding pictures I’ve ever seen. The feelings of love and happiness between Kevin and Soula seem to exude from the photos. I think they will be pleased.

Getting occasional updates from the honeymooners while in Paris–seeing all the sights and baking in the unseasonable high temps in France! They head for Rome tomorrow by train for another week of sightseeing–and, hopefully, a bit of relaxing before heading back to the start of their new lives together.

All the animals seemed to have survived without us and seem to be happy to have us back in their lives. Loki spent 2 days yelling at me and Murphy has taken to pooping on the floor in the middle of the night. Hopefully his intenstines/nerves will straighten themselves out and he will revert back to his old ways of uninterrupted sleep for 8 hours! No more snacking on leftovers for him for awhile!

Have lots of home “projects” to get to in the weeks ahead. No longer have the “after the wedding” excuse to put things off. A week of vacation in July and another in August should help, providing uninterrupted time for painting and miscellaneous repair work.

Don’t expect to be headed back to Vegas again anytime soon. Next time I go it will be when the temps are cooler and I only have to coordinate timing with 2-3 others. Large groups are just too hard to manage. Did a bit of gambling, and probably broke even. Saw a few of the events provided by the large hotels along with the Fremont St video production. That was enough for me for now. Frankly, my son’s wedding was more wonderful than any Las Vegas show could ever be. There just is no comparison in my mind’s eye.
