I’ve had it. I’m sick, sick, sick of all this damn rain! I can’t get motivated to do anything, inside or outside. It seemed to have stopped this morning so I thought I could get started trimming bushes outside. I got my trimming tools, gloves, etc. and went out back…and then it started again! I didn’t move to California for this! They say we will break the historical record this week for most rain in a season in LA. How wonderful. And, of course, it started raining yesterday morning meaning my gardener (who comes on Friday) was unable to cut my grass once again. I’m lucky if the grass has been cut every other week since the first of the year.

I did get out during a slight break in the raindrops to plant my new yellow calla lilies this morning. I put them in the front yard at the corner of the garage under the trees. They look beautiful there and I’m hopeful they do well since the tag says they should be planted in partial shade. We’ll see…

Helped Patrick get new shelves for his bedroom yesterday. He put them up last night and promptly filled them with tons of *stuff.* With as much as he has to put away, he’s going to need a few walls completely covered with shelving! They do look nice, though. Next project for him is repainting his bedroom. He will do the walls and ceiling, and I’ll do the trim. Still deciding on paint colors, so not something that’s going to happen soon.

I still have lots of painting to do myself (family room, my bedroom, kitchen cabinets) but don’t want to have to deal with any of it till after the wedding. Am taking off a week in July and a week in August for home projects. And–provided it doesn’t fucking rain–I’m planning to finally clean the garage Easter weekend! Will be off Friday afternoon and all day Monday, so that should allow for enough time to get most (if not all) of it finished.

Since I can’t work outside, guess I’ll start in sorting paperwork so I can do my taxes. Yuk! Am fairly certain I’ll have a refund, though, so I really should get it finished. The $$$ will come in handy in Vegas!
