Somehow I like 2005 better than 2004. I don’t know why, but I think it has something to do with accounting and numbers and all that. When I fill up my gas tank I always like to round off the amount so that it ends either in 5 or zero. So 2005 just seems better.

New Year’s Eve was extremely quiet and boring. Got and made lots of phone calls…from an old friend in Akron, Ohio to a friend here in Pasadena as well as a call from Kevin in Seattle and to Patrick on the beach in Malibu. None of the New Year’s Eve shows on tv were all that exciting, so went off to bed after seeing the ball come down in NY.

Got up early this morning to watch the Rose Parade on tv. The most exciting part of the day was when the stealth bomber flew directly over our house…WOW!!! I grabbed my camera and got some fabulous pictures which I’ll be posting in the picture gallery.

Since the weather was relatively nice today (meaning not raining), I decided to take down all the outdoor decorations while I could. Everything’s down and most all is packed away, and it feels great to have that done. Will work on the inside of the house tomorrow with the hope that it will all be finished and put away before I head back to work on Tuesday.

Celebrated today by heading off to the mall late this afternoon during the middle of the Rose Bowl game. Got lots of good smelling stuff on sale at Bath & Body Works and then picked up a few pairs of new shoes. Headed home to enjoy my traditional meal of pork and sauerkraut that was cooking in the crockpot most of the day. It was, of course, absolutely delicious! Gotta clean out the fridge once more to make room for the leftovers…

Heading off to bed to relax with one of my new books. Happy New Year everyone!
